About CX Cash
CX Cash, short for Cash Contextualization, is a cash budgeting and analytics platform for startup founders and investors. It tracks every cash flow across your accounts, links each outflow to the activity behind it and shows which activities return the most per dollar. The product hasn't launched yet; you can join the waitlist for early access.
Why we're building it
Most young companies run their finances from a bank feed and a spreadsheet. The founders can see the balance going down, but not what each dollar bought or which spending pays for itself. We want founders, and the investors who back them, to be able to answer that question at any time, from data rather than instinct.
What we publish
While we build the product, we publish free material on startup finance: articles on cash management, forecasting, budgeting, SaaS metrics, fundraising and reporting to a board; metric guides that set the founder's formula next to the way investors read it, with calculators; and spreadsheet templates you can download and fill in with your own numbers.
How we write
Each figure we publish cites its source, is shown as our own calculation from sourced numbers, or is labelled as a worked example. We date our sources, so you can see how current a number is. When we find a mistake on a published page, we fix it and record the change on our corrections page.
Our in-house expert
Former senior management controller, ten years at Coca-Cola and Trumpf
Dominique Bouillet is a corporate finance expert with ten years in management control, first at Trumpf in Germany and then at Coca-Cola in Switzerland, where Dominique was a senior management controller. He holds a master's degree from ESCP Europe. At CX Cash he writes the guides to the metrics founders report and investors judge, from MOIC and IRR to the numbers in a board pack.
